A formal complaint has been submitted to the Michigan Attorney General\u2019s Office requesting an investigation into potential violations of the Michigan Incompatible Public Offices Act within Emmett Township.The complaint centers on reported actions involving Township Trustee Dawn McMillion, who has applied for the vacant Township Clerk position while currently serving in an elected role. Concerns have also been raised regarding the Deputy Treasurer, who has similarly applied for the Clerk position while holding an appointed office. Under Michigan law, public offices may be deemed incompatible when one position is subordinate to another, subject to supervision, or when holding both creates a conflict of interest or breach of duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
